I initially gave this app a 5 star rating because it offered choices for appearance as slings even though I only like and have used the same skin since I bought it it did what I expected it to while doing so quickly and it only cost 0 99 But now I have to knock two stars off my rating First the app is exceptionally bulky now a 63MB for calculator app download I have a really high speed Internet connection and that s a couple of seconds but still and when it runs it consumes 150MB of memory which seems to be a bit absurd for a calculator app The other star has been taken away due to the fact that it takes a remarkably perceptible amount of time initially two to three seconds or so once a skin is chosen again and first loaded and then down to a still too long approximately to full second thereafter for the screen to repaint when switching between portrait and landscape modes I have a third generation iPad that runs all other apps that support Retina just fine the Retina graphics just introduced with this app s latest update do not make the app appear that much different than before the high memory usage may be attributed to what I assume is some degree of preloading of all the available skins but such preloading of a chosen skin is either not complete or the images are way too super huge in size because of the perceptible screen repaint times Retina means high quality appearance of apps and their components but it does not mean that the app should slow down significantly to provide for that higher quality appearance I will update my rating when the app is implemented with runtime efficiency in mind while retaining Retina quality If such an improvement does not come soon then I will move on to another calculator app because it is not that big of a deal to do so 0 99 for about a year of solid use is fine by me             retina support Update Makes Slows it Down jj.b.jj

The free version of this app has retina support This version which I payed for does not have retina support for my iPad On top of that it also takes slightly longer to load with the unnecessary opening picture of the app icon with different languages around it Honestly I was hoping for the same great experience the free app just with no ads I got a bad app in return Will change to 5 stars when the opening animation is taken away and retina support is added Until then it rightly deserves 2 stars         Not retina Unneeded opening animation Waste of money Teddy S.

I m a little perplexed The free version of this app has full Retina support and looks great This paid version on the other hand is definitely NOT Retina resolution This seems backwards from what I would expect I actually purchased the paid version first assuming it would at least be at feature parity with the free version but I was wrong for not reading the version histories more closely for each Please update the paid version to feature the same beautiful Retina support as the free version My only other critique is when click sounds are enabled and they are by default this app steals audio focus from other applications So if you have your music playing and you want to open this app to do a quick calculation be careful or it may stop your music when you start punching in numbers Again this is something that works better in the free version That is to say it doesn t steal audio focus So again please bring the paid version of the app up to parity with the free version Otherwise the app works as expected and looks good at that However given the shortcomings of this app compared to the free version I would say that you should save your money and deal with the occasional ad in favor of the free version I just can t recommend spending the money for a worse experience If this app is updated to bring it up to parity with the free version I d have no hesitation to give this five stars Until then I can only give it three             Worse Than the Free Version starfx6464
