    This is a dangerous app After my cruise I had to pay 483 for roaming I thought the fees for the app and access for the two of us were a lot but then this IF I ever use NCL again I will not use this app It didnt even work well onboard Messages I was left were not delivered until the next day     Stay far far away
    i thought it could access your account and plan things but you cant do anything at all until you connect to the ships wifi network Except for the countdown which you have to set           only works on the ship
    This app is a great idea When on your cruise use the ships wifi network to communicate with others and see the activity schedule The app has some problems though that keep it from achieving these goals as you would hope First off note that you have to pay for instant messaging and phone call access in the app Each user has to pay Its a one time fee of like 7 so its not bad but i would expect better performance for having to pay The main problem both me and my family members ran into is we would send a message and it wouldnt go through I would sometimes get notified hours after receiving a message that it was there or sending one would just fail to go through I found force quitting the app would usually fix these problems but I had to do this constantly Most communication worked but with the caveat of this hassle The other problem was with the activity schedule Many events in the printed newsletter were simply not listed in the electronic schedule in the app and sometimes the times or locations were wrong I get to where I wouldnt even bother consulting the electronic schedule in the app since I knew it was usually inaccurate This could be a great thing to have in your cruise but it needs some improvements first For reference our cruise was thanksgiving 2014 so my review is based on use of the app at that time        Great idea has some glitches
    All I get is a black screen How did this even get approved to be in the App store     Doesnt work at all
    The idea is great Countdown before cruise stats and communication is a good idea 795 per device is excessive especially considering the wifi disconnects and reconnects making the service a little intermittent I think 795 per stateroom would be more reasonable Like others we had strange cases of a random text or email come through despite airplane mode the whole trip Itinerary is not available in app and ship map is limited A PDF of the boat in your iBooks before you leave is the best way to go NCL points for creativity but you have to make it work        Right idea but execution is bad
    This app is very confused about wifi Some parts of the app thinks it is connected while other parts dont have a connection My wife and I paid for the phone and message feature but had little success After 5 days the solution was obvious Keep restarting the app Not just the app on your phone but also on the phone you want to contact        Great idea but needs work
    Just got back App worked on and off for a couple days and then not at all I have iPhone my wife has a Samsung Samsung not supported There is a 795 fee per phone onboard for the week They refunded it with no issues     Great idea too bad it doesnt work
    Just another cruise rip off DO NOT bother with this app Ships wifi is very unpredictable you need to reconnect often because the connection is lost We just sailed on the NCL Pearl Dec 22 Jan 2 2015 We were a party of 16 and spent 795 each for the on board texting service The ship would not refund our money when 24 hours later we told them what a joke it was Dont waste your money     NCL ripoff
    Its a really good app when you are on a cruze it shows you everything on the cruze and whats going on                 Love this app

    I just got back from my trip and found that I used this app quite a bit It was nice to check my onboard balance see what was happening and get details on excursions I do think its got a long way to go Most of the details were nothing more than blubs with no real detail I would also have liked a map of the ship ideally one that knew where I was so I could figure out how to get where I wanted to go I found the message between guests option to be essentially useless and a cheap money grab If I wanted to use it I had to pay for the service for every phone and it didnt take into account people without smart phones So Id use it again if I went on another Norwegian cruise           Helpful but lacking
    On Windows phones the texting and phone calls does NOT work on this app Also need to have ships deck plans on this No able to see what you have planned or booked on board        traveler
    I would be connected to the wifi on NCLs Sky and when I clicked register it told me to connect to the ships wifi Then randomly I would get a notification from that app that I had disconnected from the ships wifi This app just doesnt serve a purpose if it cant understand the wifi it is connected to     Doesnt work

    I tried this app even after reading some of the negative reviews The app gave me ship info and I opted not to pay for the services offered I just used it to keep up with what was happening on the ship I turned off my cellular data and connected to the ships wifi for the duration of the trip While out to sea I kept getting notifications and text messages I thought it was strange but I assumed the messages were just slipping through their system I checked on several occasions to make sure my data was off and it was Well lo and behold I get close to home to a message that says my data was suspended due to high international data usage I called a number that was given and they told me I had used 28 megabytes of data while away on this cruise The amount charged for this data was in excess of 500 I argued up and down with the person on the phone and they told me that I must have left my data on I explained my steps for turning the data off and explained that it was still off The lady told me that I had been using data for the entirety of my cruise Well I actually got two messages while I was arguing with the lady and my data was still turned off Just want others to know and beware I will be fighting this as far as I can     The app worked but in the wrong way
    We paid the money to be able to text which didnt work when we needed it The entertainment schedule cut off early 2 of the 4 nights of our cruise Until they upgrade the wireless signal this app will be mostly useless     Mostly useless

    We are a family of 20 and 10 of us added this app to our cell phones We texted on the ship for the entire cruise and checked our bill in real time Definitely worth it to keep in touch and make plans and to see the charges as they are added It worked perfectly for us all over the ship                 Ten of Us Used This on NCL Getaway
    Unless you are booked on one of the select ships that connects with this app it is completely pointless Hey NCL how about designing an app that will allow ALL of your passengers to book shore excursions on their mobile device regardless of what ship theyre on     Pointless App

    I found the messaging feature of this app which cost 799 per user to be unreliable while cruising on the Jewel from April 11th through April 18th 2015 This app would report that my iPhone was no longer connected to the ships WIFI network often yet when I checked the WIFI signal strength it showed the maximum There was no audible alert when this happened So Id be clueless that I could no longer receive text from friends on the ship It would typically be when I tried to text them that Id see the app had disconnected To get reconnected required a quit and restart cycle of this app Assuming that the WIFI signal does disappear at certain points on the ship the app should reconnect when the signal improves but this version does not The text interface is rather crude You cant send a message to a group of friends or copy a message once it has been transmitted to a friend Being able to check on your bill is a nice feature that the app supports        Disconnects from ships WIFI network often meaning unreliable for texting
    It was a great tool to keep in touch with our teenagers on the ship Did not connect to ships wifi a few times but worked most of the time Needs to add personal planner to the app so you can keep track of what events you have scheduled and where on the ship they are Great app highly reccomended              Worked Great
    Didnt work the first day but now it does Its been exceptionally useful to track my charges The reason for the two star deduction is that it would be very helpful to see my reservations for shows and dining but this is not a feature of the app you can reserve both but cannot see your schedule           Could be better

    There are a few connectivity issues while on the ship but honestly it did not affect me that much This app is brilliant and I used it to make calls from ship to shore for a very low rate                 App is awesome
    Just downloaded this on a iPad mini and all I see is a black screen with the NCL     Zippo
    The app is a good way to keep in touch with family and friends but for 8 each phone the signal should be better Our phones were constantly disconnecting from the ships wifi We spent more of the trip turning app on and off to try and reset it than we did actually getting a usable signal Unfortunately this is the only option to stay in touch unless you bring a 2way radio It should be a fee per room also and not per phone of charging at all Disney cruises dont charge additional to use portable phones they provide in the rooms     App ok wifi terrible
    I have had this app for about three years It has recently been upgraded but the upgrade doesnt work and now all I get is a blank page on my iPad 4 Cant these people check their apps to see if it works or not bozos     Worthless
    The message portion rarely worked on the Breakaway and there is an on board fee for access to this feature paid for something that didnt work     Not worth it
    Dont believe the other negative reviews youre seeing This App was incredibly useful on an NCL cruise we just finished Firstly it has all your daily activities listed Which is helpful so you dont have to carry the daily schedule around or if you just forgot it in your room Secondly all your dining and excursion reservations can be done on here Which makes it so easy to do My favorite feature though was being able to use the phone Activating this for a small 795 fee allows you not only to call others that have the App but also call everywhere else on the ship You can call other rooms they can call you you can call the Guest Services desk or a specific restaurant or the operatorit was having a house phone in your hands at all times Now there were some occasions where the wifi signal dropped such as in an elevator but thats to be expected and wasnt a big deal Pros definitely outweighed any negatives Definitely download and use the app and the phone feature Didnt try the messaging so cant comment on that Oh and Just remember to keep your phone on airplane mode and do the proper things to avoid getting charged for roaming data              Very useful app Highly recommend
    The idea behind this app is solid and the account review feature is helpful Improvements that could be made include featuring upcoming vacation events and dining reservations Of course it would be nice if users didnt have to pay for text and phone to other users but that has to be expected from a cruise line           Works alright improvements could be made

    I just got off the ship and this app worked fine for me on iOS 7 I didnt subscribe to onboard messaging but I did use everything else The whats going on screen is great for seeing all activities The app also lets you see info about and book shore excursions dining and entertainment right from the app Judging by the frequency of updates NCL is trying to improve this app so I give them credit for that Two things NCL needs to work on are showing charges by person app lets you click on everyone in your party but for us all charges were listed under my account and I had no idea what the kids were spending without going to Guest Services and show the ship deck plans available on NCLs other app but that is glitchy and why should I have to have two apps Also sounds like from another review iOS 8 support may be an issue              Helpful but room for improvement
    Dont pay attention to the negative reviews I almost did and glad I didnt The texting worked great calls not so much But was so glad we had it so we could meet up 8 of us had it and all glad we did Just have to leave app running the entire time or will miss messages when app is shut down although will let you know you missed messages when you open it Also good to check out things on the boat make reservations and check your account balance              Works great
    This app decided to update its self in the middle of my cruise And now does not see that i am on the ships wifi Previous version worked fine Now i wasted 795 on the messaging package and intership calling plan Way to go guys     Updated itself midcruise does not work wasted money
    Bought the 795 package that allows you to text and call people that are onboard with you Hardly ever worked When it did you would receive the text hours after it was sent     Terrible
    Only works on board the ship and even then it doesnt do anything helpful like give you the menus for different dining rooms Review account was somehow linked to another person in our partys room instead of my credit card only one on file for our party so had to figure out their errors on the card the morning we docked The app also failed to go through w setting up shore excursions on multiple occasions wo any more explanation than transaction failed after inputting everything to try to set up the side trip Totally disappointing and useless app     Terrible app
    I downloaded this app twice and got the same result I open it and see the Norwegian Cruise Line logo and a setting button and nothing else but a black screen The settings button does not even work Waste of time     This app does not work
