This app is mostly good but is hampered by a few missing broken features Crucial fixes 1 Please properly integrate the app with the iPhone playback controls so that play pause and skip next previous work in the places they should lock screen control center in line headphone control Bluetooth controls etc Right now none of these work 2 Swiping from the left edge should go back not open the main menu list Only swiping to the right from the title area should bring up the main menu Both of these are standard functionality throughout iOS and all properly made iOS apps and they need to function properly in SugarSync Suggestions 1 Add the ability to create Favorites so I can get to folders I access often on my phone with a single tap rather than 6 or 7 2 Add a Now Playing list that I can add music files to so I can create a playlist of files I want to play rather than having to manually pick each song after the current one ends 3 Add a way to see the full title of files too long to fit in the screen 4 After doing a search why can t I do anything with the files that are found I can t swipe to the left like I can when navigating my folders to add the files to my Offline rename or move them etc Please add this functionality Still needs some improvements D_Roam

When you tap to view a photo document or any other item that s been synced the button to back out or close out of that screen overlaps with the area in the top left corner of your iPhone X that shows the time and it s impossible to go back and so you have to force quit the app each time Please fix this Does not work properly with iPhone X Kweezy310

Even though I am a big user of both drop box and iCloud sugar sync is my goto cloud storage as it maintains my folder configuration However I wish they would optimize the app for iPhone X In many of the offline screens or viewing photos the only way I can sometimes go back is by force closing the App iPhone X support Nimz
Not only has the app quit working Sugar Sync makes it nearly impossible to cancel actually not renew I have called both the Cancellation Department and the main number more than once leaving a message to return my call or email as their message directs No response whatever I guess the only remedy is to instruct the credit card people not to honor their charges SugarSync DeanZ428

SugarSync has a really good UI and interface compared to other backup services Why SugarSync rather than other backup services Well I was actually a customer for BackBlaze for about three years It has been really handy and saved me a couple of times Though what irked me was that with BackBlaze there a 30 day file retention policy Meaning if you don t back up your computer at least every thirty days They will delete your data So I figured I should look for a new backup service SugarSync doesn t have that policy And compared to BackBlaze s app SugarSync s is more functional The UI on desktop and mobile feels very modern and usable I ve also tried SpiderOakOne which is similar to SugarSync but the app is so unusable that it turned me away from them Also unlike with these services SugarSync backs up your photos Yes there are backup services like Google Drive Dropbox and OneDrive But you can t choose which folder you want to backup You re only confined to one folder Now SugarSync does have a few drawbacks It is more expensive than other backup services The lowest plan is 7 49 per month for 100GB That is a bit pricey And on the app You can t preview thumbnail images for png files Though jpg and jpeg work Though is minor Though I ll gladly pay a bit more for better user accessibility better UI and just being pretty dang handy And that s why I chose SugarSync as my main backup service SugarSync is quite nice Sp00ksies
When accessing folders in the app once a folder is open you cannot close it and access other folders unless you fully close the app This is a major bug only in this latest release I attempted to contact Sugarsync directly related to this but there was no easy way to contact them Note also crashes all the time when I attempt to open or send a document or file Not good Huge bug in latest release Mahishi

This is maybe the second negative review in my life I found the product slow It made a mess of my files Created LOTS of duplicates I then tried the FREE TorrentSync and it was vastly superior Technically Faster less overhead no duplicates Easier to setup So I went to cancel within a few days of paying for service and was told they will not offer a credit They will not credit any unused portion and stated see the terms of service like ANYONE reads those The only thing they possibly had to sell over TorrentSync is SERVICE and they have none No phone number First email was unanswered they do not monitor Info Second email took 5 days to answer and was of now help SAVE YOUR MONEY Big Waste of Money Use TorrentSync

Switched from Google Drive when it started acting unpredictably and deleting or reverting important files Very impressed by the onboarding process at Sugarsync and their feature list So far Mac and iPhone apps behave wonderfully and have all the features I would expect and then some This app is snappy and responsivefeeling with a very intuitive structure If the experience continues to be this smooth and pleasant I will have no problems upgrading my storage after the trial is up Very Impressed

Im a paying user of Sugarsync on one of their higher tier accounts This works great on Windows but Ive never gotten the background sync to work on any of my 4 iPads and 3 iPhones It simply does not work To get pictures to sync I must keep this app open and turn off my lock screen It needs to stay on and be the active app to work Thats pretty terrible Ive written to twit customer service a few times and they deny its a problem Im also using Flickr and the background sync on that definitely works Please get your act together Sugarsync There really is an issue and you need to pay attention to your customers especially those of us who are paying you a pretty penny Background sync does not work on iOS Customer service denies theres a problem
Only reason I got this was to get workrelated material HUGE MUSTAKE These clowns have charged my card twiceraising rates both times without my express permission The app itself acts like a virus with YOUR filesits hard to delete a file stored on their app without deleting them on your device NEVER give them a credit card number call your bank get a temp number to give them Its almost impossible to cancel an act with these guys They have NO links under customer service or account info for cancellation After emailing them I got a reply to contact a specific link to sign in then another one to contact an agenttheir instructions dont mention this nor does it work on the latest version of Firefox You can also only contact them between 112 PDT I took off work to do that their chat function spit me out over 20 times before I got through Ariana at the other end COULD NOT CANCEL the act I had to go to yet another link to cancel What a nightmare There are better cheaper alternatives use them instead DO NOT GET THIS APP Crooks Impossible to cancel account

I tried 4 cloud apps and hands down this one is the best Took a little longer to learn than the competitors but in the end it feels like you are sitting in front of your Mac It can be built to work with the way your computer is organized vs the competitors where you have to adjust your file structure to work with their app I also use the Readdle suite of apps which integrate with sugar sync for a wonderful experience with pdf editing and other common computer tasks Just like I am on my Mac
I have purchased the business account and use one for our family one for my wifes parents and one for our church Sugar sink is the best application for backing up synchronizing and sharing your files and folders I especially like the ability to synchronize folder located on any of my machines and all of the photos from all of them BEST in Class

I have had great success with SugarSync in the past and on my PC but the background uploading does not work on iOS 82 That wouldnt be a huge deal just annoying but in addition the uploads are extremely slow 2 min per photo This makes it very difficult to get even 50 photos backed up I reinstalled and checked my internet connection It sounds like others are having similar issues Please fix this or I will have to switch to a competitor Extremely slow and broken on iOS 82

I have used Sugarsync for several months Is best as it uses your style not forcing you to use its style as most do In the last two weeks it has been offline over 50 of the time I have attempted to access it The website also is down so I cant even check status or request support Used to be trouble free Hope to change this ranking someday as I have a prepaid annual plan Best Cloud Type but Significant Outages including support website

I am a longtime user of SugarSync since it first started The functionality is incredible and the new apps very speedy However as of a year ago its pricing has become noncompetitive for power users and the company locks you into their annual pricing for a full year with no ability to downgrade and then automatically signs you up at the upgraded price with no ability to get out the next year I have called customer service but they cant do anything because the pricing is locked in and cannot be changed on their systems I am planning to contact the Federal Trade Commission and state attorney general New management obviously doesnt understand how to treat loyal customers and evidently does care about having any Bad sign for future of this company Great Functionality But PricingCustomer Service Stinks
but for reasons I cant understand they made a change which PREVENTS me from downloading MP4 files Now these files can only be played via the app and there is no way to download an MP4 Why they would make that change Ill never know Previously I could download these files I even stayed with Sugarsync just in case they brought the function back No such luck Back to Dropbox Ugh Would have gotten 5 stars
The biggest issue is not seeing improvements I have requested Backup of photos often disrupts access to files I need for business There needs to be a button to pause or stop photo uploads For instance I have a large video which is partially uploaded but it cant be stopped nor cleared There is no one to call for help Great app with some bugs

I am an early adherent to SugarSync getting it before I even had an idevice Three weeks before my hard drive crashed and it saved my life since getting an iPhone over five years ago and an iPad two and a half years ago it has been invaluable in accessing my files without having to drag my laptop around The recent free memory upgrade was just the icing on the cake More than I hoped for when I first got it

If you have a folder stored that you made local on you phone with a lot of photos in it this version of the app will crash when you open that folder Reinstalling the app does not resolve this issue Dont upgrade This version crashes when opening a folder synched to the phone
I rate this app 2 stars due to it does not allow any flexibility after uploading files It only saves the camera roll on the iPhone and when you try to use view the video file it crashes The app does not allow you to delete files you do not want stored anymore I have pics stored that came from websites I visited and cannot remove from storage The app does not allow you to upload other folders on the iPhone such as the notes Im very disappointed with the limitations Not impressed
I downloaded the newest version and installed it per instructions SugarSync started syncing with my laptop on its own When it was finished I found that it had synced a very few unimportant document folders nothing to do with my business or taxes Then OMG I checked my laptop and all this folders that are vital to my business were completely wiped out of my computer Whats next They make you pay 99 for phone support even though I just paid 75 for my subscription And it takes 2 days to get an email response Linda Yazell BEWARE It wiped out my docs file

Had I not experienced what I am going through with this company I wouldve had positive things to say about the ease of use Having just read Hardcores warning on here I absolutely agree Avoid this at all costs Once they have your credit card even if you cancel prior to a renewal you will be charged And the cancelation process is so onerous so difficult and so filled with technical barriers the links they send you as part of the required process are outdated and do not work Their required cancelation department chat support was down for days which they state was hours I have pursued cancelation on a daily basis since receiving our recent corporate visa bill where they had renewed automatically I am typing this after being on with their cancelation department for the past 45 minutes Every so often Adam comes back types something noncommittal and then disappears for 10 minutes Learn from my experience friends I will be the skeleton sitting in front of his Mac with this companys cancelation department via chat still waiting for a response because I refused to give up Avoid this company at all costs AVOID at all costs bait and switch tactics

Whatever you do do NOT install or use this fraudulent app and especially do NOT provide them with your credit card or PayPal account or anything involving They make it IMPOSSIBLE to deactivate your account cannot stop payments nor can you retrieve your files if you get a new computer or use another device as the original files are forever linked to whichever machine you originally uploaded from Also the payment scheme is just that scheme and you will jump through the most ridiculous obstacle course with them just to cancel your card YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED BAIT SWITCH unauthorized CC charges
